Lumbini
is the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, which is about 180
km west of Kathmandu in the Terai region. Before his
enlightment Buddha's childhood name is Siddhartha Gautam. He
was born as a prince in 623 B.C. Mayadevi Temple, and Ashoka
Pillar are the most attractive places in Lumbini. Now
Lumbini is protected by the World Heritage Site of UNESCO. In
recent days Lumbini has been the center of international
visitors.

[guest houses] – are available at Bhairahawa the nearest
city from Lumbini. Some of the hotels are Hotel Hokke [
under Japanese Mangement] , Hotel Nirvana, Hotel Yeti etc. |
